The Glenburn Tea Estate of Darjeeling is a family run business with acres and acres of beautiful tea gardens resting on a hill slope with two bubbling streams passing through the estate. Originally, Glenburn Estate was established and run by a Scottish tea company during the British colonial days, and was later taken over by the Kolkata based Prakash family. Glenburn Tea Estate and the associated boutique hotel is located in the hills of Darjeeling, and is about 3 hours drive from Bagdogra Airport or New Jalpaiguri/Siliguri Railway station. The hotel transfers and vehicles are provided by the estate.
With magnificent views of the valleys and mountain ranges including the mystic Kanchenjunga and Sikkim hills, this upscale homestay for tourists in plush bungalows is situated amidst sprawling gardens. The entire staff of the Glenburn retreat are from the local community who have been trained over the years. The temperature here varies between 6 to 24°C during winter and 18 to 30°C in summer. Monsoon is from July to August.
